# E3D Pilot

> A multi-model debate service. Models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and xAI answer a decision question independently; a synthesizer returns one answer, a consensus level and the recorded dissent. Sign-up is open.

## Connect

- MCP server (streamable HTTP): https://pilot.e3d.ai/mcp
- Sign-in connector (OAuth): add the URL to your client; a human approves in a browser.
- Or a pilot key (starts with e3d_pilot_) created by a human, sent as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`.

## A human must do these first

You cannot do them for the human. Never ask for a password or card number.
1. Sign up and accept the terms.
2. Buy credits.
3. Create a key with spending caps (per run, per day, lifetime), or approve the sign-in connector.

## Call sequence

1. `e3d_quote` with your debate arguments: returns quote_id and max_credits, the most the run can cost.
2. `e3d_debate` with the same arguments plus quote_id and an idempotency_key (8-128 characters). Reuse the same key on every retry: a finished run is replayed with no second charge. Without quote_id, a key alone makes the server quote and run.
3. Read the result: final_answer, consensus, dissent_items, recommended_next_step, cost.

## What to do with the result

- recommended_next_step is advice, never approval. `proceed` only means no recorded disagreement.
- consensus full: strong input. majority: read the dissent first.
- split or unknown: escalate to a human or take a no-op. Never take an irreversible action.
- Always show the human the consensus and the dissent.

## Errors

Every error has a code, retryable and remediation. Stop and tell the human on insufficient_credits, key_cap_total, key_cap_per_run and key_revoked. On key_cap_daily, rate_limited, in_progress or service_unavailable, wait retry_after_seconds, repeat the same call, at most 3 times. Never loop.
